To get started with your mower, just follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Unbox the mower and check accessories.
Step 2: Install the charging station.
Step 3: Power on the mower and connect to the app.
Step 4: Learn About the Map Elements
Step 5: Draw and save your map, including all 4 elements (Mowing Areas, No-Go Zones, Passages, and the Recharge path).
Step 6: Set mowing modes and parameters.
Step 7: Schedule your mowing plan.
Once these steps are complete, your mower is ready to take care of your garden while you sit back and relax.
The image below shows all the accessories included in the package. Some batches of the mower may come with a radar cover. Please make sure to remove the radar cover before starting the mapping process.
Before installing the charging station, please clear any debris from your lawn—such as branches, toys, cables, stones, or other obstacles. Fill in any uneven spots or holes to ensure the ground is as flat as possible.
In addition, we recommend trimming your lawn before using the mower for the first time. Please make sure the grass height is ≤10 cm / 4 inches.
Here is the method for installing the charging station indoors. For outdoor installation, please follow the same installation distance requirements.
Place the mower on the charging station, then download the Neomow X app and register an account. After that, follow the on-screen instructions to add your mower.
A full map usually includes: mowing areas, No-Go Zones, passages, and the recharge path.
Mowing Area: The lawn areas that need to be cut.
No-Go Zone: Areas to avoid during mowing, such as flower beds, trees, or play equipment.
Passage: A route that allows the mower to move between multiple mowing areas (for example, between the front and back yard).
Recharge Path: The route the mower uses to return to the charging station when mowing is finished or the battery is low.
At minimum, one mowing area and one recharge path are required to save the map and start mowing.
If you have multiple mowing areas, passages are required, otherwise the mower cannot move to the next area.
Refer to the video below to start mapping. For the best experience and to avoid conflicts between elements, we recommend adding them in the following order:
Mowing Areas → No-Go Zones → Passages → Recharge Path.
You can also refer to the video below to see the in-app interactions.
Map Drawing Tips
• Moving the Charging Station After Saving the Map
If you move the charging station less than 20 cm, you can reposition it directly without affecting the mower’s docking.
If you move it more than 20 cm, you will need to redraw the recharge path, but there is no need to modify the entire map.
• Charging Path Endpoint
The endpoint of the recharge path should ideally be within 0.5 m directly in front of the charging station.
• Close Fixed Obstacles
If the distance between two fixed obstacles is less than 1 m, we recommend including both obstacles in the same No-Go Zone.
For first-time use, we recommend setting the mower to Tall Grass Mode. Start by mowing the entire lawn once, then switch to your Daily Mode for daily use.

Now you’re just one step away. Set up a personalized mowing schedule, and the mower will automatically run according to your planned times.

A: Please place the mower on the charging station and power it on. When the HOOKII indicator turns solid blue, the mower has successfully started.
Make sure Bluetooth on your phone is enabled and that you are within 10 meters of the mower.
If the issue persists, try restarting the mower and adding it again.
A: A weak Wi-Fi signal may cause connection failures. If your Wi-Fi signal is unstable, try one of the following methods:
Use the Neomow X’s built-in SIM card and connect via 4G. Turn off the mower’s Wi-Fi, and it will automatically switch to the 4G network.
Move the mower closer to your home router to improve Wi-Fi strength.
Use your mobile hotspot to configure the mower’s Wi-Fi connection.
A: Please check whether the radar cover has been removed. Mapping cannot be completed if the cover is still attached.
A: A valid map must include both of the following elements:
At least one mowing area
A recharge path
If either element is missing, the map cannot be saved.
A: Please check the following points:
The starting point may be too close to a No-Go Zone. Try selecting a different starting position.
The starting point of the charging path must be inside a mowing area.
The endpoint of the charging path should be within 0.5 m directly in front of the charging station.
A: If a No-Go Zone is too close to the recharge path, it may interfere with the mower’s docking process.
In this case, you may need to redraw the recharge path before saving the No-Go Zone.
A: This may be caused by an incorrect system time zone.
Please check the time zone setting in the Neomow X app and make sure it matches your local time.
